MEINL Wind Gongs – Traditional Craftsmanship and Wide Tonal Spectrum

The MEINL Wind Gongs are traditionally handcrafted in China using a special bronze alloy. Each gong is made by hand, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and excellent acoustic performance. These gongs are also known as Feng or Sun Gongs, and their unique shape sets them apart from other gongs.

Flat Shape and Wide Vibration Range

MEINL Wind Gongs feature an almost flat shape, which allows the gong’s sound to fully open up. This design results in the gong’s vibrations spreading across a wide range and sustaining for a long time. The gong’s acoustic properties ensure that every strike produces a rich, clear, and powerful sound, while the resonance lasts for an extended period.

Deep Tones and Sizzling Overtones

The sound of the MEINL Wind Gongs is primarily deep-toned, which dominates with softer strikes. However, with stronger playing, the gong beautifully opens up and produces wave-like overtones that enrich the sound. The sizzling overtones create dynamic shifts with each strike, offering a unique acoustic experience. This feature makes the gong ideal for musical performances, meditations, and sound therapy applications.

Available Sizes and Accessories

MEINL Wind Gongs are available in various sizes, ranging from 12" (30 cm) in diameter to 48" (120 cm). Each gong comes with a mallet and cover designed specifically for the gong’s size. These accessories help maximize the gong’s acoustic performance and ensure its protection when not in use.
