Meinl Sonic Energy Chau Tam Tams are handcrafted in China based on centuries-old methods and traditions used in the region for making gongs. This ensures the high quality and authentic craftsmanship of the tam tams.
Special bronze alloy and curved rim
The tam tams are made from a special bronze alloy and feature a curved rim, giving them a wide range of sound characteristics. These tam tams can produce a variety of tones, from long-lasting deep hums to contemplative rumbles and quick, explosive strikes, making them suitable for many musical situations.
Harmony and balance
The Yin & Yang symbol on the tam tams represents harmony and balance. These two opposites do not fight each other, but rather complement one another, as Alfred Forke says: "The ancient principle moves and generates yang. When the movement reaches its end, it becomes still, and this stillness generates yin."
