Eucalyptus Essential Oil is a concentrated liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from the tree Eucalyptus Globulus. It is usually distilled, sometimes solvent extracted. Eucalyptus essential oil is known to have antibacterial, antiseptic and analgesic properties. It relieves coughs, colds and other respiratory problems. It soothes muscle and joint pain and helps heal wounds, burns, ulcers and insect bites. In aromatherapy, eucalyptus is said to promote activity, vitality and energy.
For breathing problems, drip a few drops onto a tissue and inhale through the mouth, hold your breath for half a minute and exhale through the nose. Apply directly to wounds, rashes and insect bites. Add a few drops to your bath water to revive and refresh. Soak your sore, tired feet in warm water with 4-5 drops of oil, relief will not be long in coming. A few drops of oil in a diffuser will kill airborne bacteria, so it's a good idea to use it in a sick room. Eucalyptus essential oil is recommended for external use only.
