It is also an excellent insecticide, these properties are so strong that its dilute solution can be sprayed or vaporised using a vaporiser to repel mosquitoes, ants and many other nuisance insects and pests. A dilute solution of cajuput oil can also be rubbed on the body to keep insects away.
Cajuput oil is also a great disinfectant, providing immediate relief from infections of the nose, throat and other respiratory organs, as well as coughs, infections and the resulting sore throat.
It has analgesic properties when used topically, for example on infected, inflamed teeth or rubbed into the forehead for headaches. Use only in highly diluted solutions is recommended.
