Muscovy essential oil is obtained by steam distillation from the leaves and stems of Pelargonium odoratissimum. It has a strong fragrance with a floral and minty aroma. Its main characteristic is its ability to balance, harmonise both body and soul and alleviate the symptoms of many diseases.

The essential oil of mace helps to balance oily and dry skin, and relieves stress and anxiety from a psychological point of view. It is also claimed to have a beneficial effect on adrenal gland function, which has a balancing effect on the hormonal system. It is an excellent remedy for acne, bruises, burns, dermatitis, eczema, haemorrhoids, ulcers, oedema, poor circulation, sore throat, tonsillitis, PMS, menopausal problems, stress and neuralgia. Its strong, distinctive scent keeps mosquitoes and other insects away. Add a few drops to shampoo and you have an excellent lice killer.

Muscadine originated in South Africa, Reunion, Madagascar, Egypt and Morocco, and was introduced to Europe in the 17th century. In ancient times it was believed to be able to ward off spirits. It was therefore often planted as a hedge around houses and still decorates many windows and terraces. Although there are around 700 species of geranium, only ten of these are suitable for making essential oils. Those planted around houses are generally not suitable for this purpose.
